Senior Consultant

We're in need of an ambitious senior consultant to provide support to our ever-growing client base within Fairfield County. Our ideal candidate has skills that range from desktop support to server and network administration, as well as a healthy mix of other technology know-how, from HTML to VoIP. You need excellent communication and technical skills and must be able to work independently to prioritize support among multiple clients.

We've built a stable, manageable environment, so major emergencies are practically non-existent. Regardless, our clients call on us often. Support is provided both on-site and with our remote management solution, and a successful candidate will need to respond quickly, even after-hours.

Breadth and depth of knowledge is critical. We'll want you to be able to configure an IP-based PBX one day, help architect a virtualized offsite backup solution the next, then finish off with a bit of spyware removal. Confidence in your skills is a must – we're a boutique firm where only the exceptional will survive. Our clients are reasonable but demanding, and if we don't throw enough challenges your way, they will. The benefit of this environment is that a strong work ethic will be immediately obvious – and rewarded.

To be a successful member of our team you need a voracious appetite for all things tech; you'll take the time to not only find the solution, but understand it, document it, and do a deeper dive on any potentially related issues. Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day support of our clients' infrastructures. This includes:

Windows XP/Vista workstations
Windows Server 2003, 2008 (and Exchange environments)
Blackberry Enterprise Server
Citrix Presentation Server
VMWare Server/ESX
Develop and deploy new client networks.

Troubleshoot Internet, wireless and security issues.

Administer our proactive network management platform.

Provide support for firewalls, VPNs, peripherals, BlackBerry devices, email and remote connection issues.

Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and participate in developing new service offerings and management methodologies.


Requirements

Minimum 6 years providing IT support.
Must be experienced with Microsoft products, including Windows 2008/2003/XP/Vista, Exchange, Office 2003/2007/2010
Friendly but professional demeanor, helpful and eager attitude, and the ability to confidently and clearly communicate issues and solutions to clients.
Exceptional verbal, phone and written communication skills.
Need to be a self starter, organized, detailed-oriented and efficient.
Industry certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA)
Citrix Presentation Server
VMWare ESX
Mac OSX
Linux
You must reside in Fairfield County and have a clean background and driving record.
