Position Overview
In partnership with management, effectively allocate and control inventory levels to maximize sales, inventory, turnover and profit. Work with OTB/Merchandising plan to insure company objectives are met. Allocation of inventory across retail points of distribution (stores and Internet) to achieve agreed upon financial targets.

The Merchandise Allocator works with Finance and Buying to develop statistical assessments of business trends and recommend plans for future direction and areas of opportunity.


Principle Responsibilities:


• Develop and prepare merchandising plans for sales, markdowns, and inventory to the SKU level. Communicate buy parameter to merchants for execution.

• Monitor and assess current sell through volume, markdowns, margin and inventory, and assortment plans to forecast future plan. Identify key buys and selling at the style level.

• Work with marketing to identify key buys and departments for promotional activity. Determine accurate inventory levels and pricing for promotional forecast.

• Allocate product to the store level. Develop parameters for assessing store selling trends at the SKU level to determine current product assortment and future buy levels. Develop replenishment parameters and strategies by store.

• Work with Merchandising to determine markdown strategies and timing of clearance.

• In conjunction with Production and Merchandising teams, identify ways to purchase product to reduce lead times and processing at the Warehouse.


Skill Summary:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-3 years of experience in retail Merchandise Planning, Inventory Planning or Allocation
• Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Expert command of retail math concepts and applications
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong aptitude for numerical analysis
• Advanced knowledge of excel
• Exposure to relevant Planning, Finance, Analytical, and Data Management systems
